Stay 05:12
Where consciousness makes no difference at all The apartment and the garden They might as well have never even happened The experience is meaningless to me Lie, don’t be nervous Lie, don’t be nervous Did you drink from the other flower Bleeding in color?

Lonelier than yesterday Train click clack, you can never look back All alone today Blowing all the clouds away Train click clack, you can never look back On a sunny day I’ll follow where my heart leads And I’ll promise to never promise the world I’m never, ever coming back When I’m gone I won’t return I’ll take what I have done and just fade away These memories are something I never wanted to keep anyway Lonelier than yesterday Train click clack, you can never look back All alone today Door appears within the haze Train click clack, you can never look back I slip away I’ll follow where my heart leads And I’ll promise to never promise the world I’m never, ever coming back When I’m gone I won’t return I’ll take what I have done and just fade away These memories are something I never wanted to keep anyway
4.
When I talked to you If you’d asked me to I would’ve killed the president If you didn’t trust the government When I came to you The words had all run through So it doesn’t make much sense To moan about in future tense
5.
When they pulled the hooks out from your chest Could you feel them pushing back the skin? Was the water warmer than it looked Or was it just another disappointing shallow? Can I take you to a restaurant? You might feel better after a meal We could wrap your arms in paper towels And put a little lipstick on you my darling If it’s no big deal I’d like to ask When’s the last you smoked a cigarette? If I call your phone will you pick up Or will you let it go to voicemail just like always? If I talk to you will you tell the truth?
6.
Machines first into the mine Metallic walls and we can’t find Our way out, our way out, our way out Machines attack deep in the mine The sword is tempered in red blood and wine The future, the past, the present Run run run into the mine The doors slide open, we can’t find Our way out, our way out, our way out Goodbye my love, my darling, my only 102 we need you now 102 we need you now

8.
And where are you when the world breaks? Am I alone here in the woods? In the woods Is this a dream? I can see the autumn leaves Oh will you move the knife Stay with me, be my wife? Or will you take this night And add it to my darklife? Oh will you move the knife Stay with me, and be my wife? Or will you take this night And add it to my darklife?

Fall for me Fall for me Remember my name Fall for me Time, time, time... Fall for me Fall for me

Like a song Your heart stretched so long And you don’t know When it comes Where does it come from? Broken, snapped And no turning back And you won’t know When it’s gone Where did it go wrong? The cold winter sun And then, you feel again

Dark Matter 03:41
Burying the chef knife And catching up with you on my darklife Where consciousness makes no difference at all The apartment and the garden Well they might as well have never even happened The experience is meaningless to me But our cosmic insignificance is forever It’s a dark life

about

“Since 2014 we have been releasing albums under the death’s dynamic shroud name in pairs or as individuals, but Darklife is the strongest representation of our combined sensibilities, shifting from heavy electronic dance music to bubblegum pop, from gentle ballads to harsh digital abstractions; it is an outpouring of ideas and acts as a new beginning for the group. Much of the album is about the nature of love as a metaphor for our individual philosophies sparking and melding in the music, examining love as a social construct, or as the fabric of the universe, or as not existing at all. As our debut for 100% Electronica, Darklife can also be seen as a bridge between the underground tape and electronic scene of the 2010s into the dance and pop world the label has been shepherding.” -death’s dynamic shroud

CRITICAL RECEPTION

8/10 -The Needle Drop

“On a new double album, the experimental collective continues its journey from vaporwave toward fractured, maximalist pop music… Darklife documents DDS’s humanity emerging from their once purely digital world. While it still features the internet-damaged sample manipulation that has become their trademark, it also incorporates more original production, instrumentation, and vocals than previous releases.” -Pitchfork

"A dizzying, idea-packed journey into fractured maximalist pop from Death's Dynamic Shroud." -Bandcamp

"...Tech Honors, James Webster, and Keith Rankin of Orange Milk Records are in fine form with the new project, which demonstrates a poppier development since their niche beginnings on tracks like "Fall For Me," "Neon Memories," and "Judgement Bolt." -FADER

“Stunningly beautiful” -The Needle Drop on ‘Messe de E-102 during NMF The Needle Drop: Best Tracks of the Week in Weekly Track Roundup: 4/17/22"
“Messe de E-102” is a spooky electro-pop thriller brimming with tension and triumph." -What's Good on ‘Messe de E-102’

"It’s a bear that death’s dynamic shroud have wrestled with for years and consistently come out on top with adventurous triumphs like 'Neon Memories.'" -FADER on Neon Memories 10 songs you need in your life this week: 4/18/22

"...indie-pop track that evolves into a massive electronic behemoth... there’s never been a better time to be a fan of Death’s Dynamic Shroud." -Lyrical Lemonade on Neon Memories

“...Fucking awesome…” -The Needle Drop on ‘Judgment Bolt’ during NMF

“‘Judgment Bolt’ continues the search for untraditional dancefloor bangers, channeling Skrillex and the digital miasma of classic vaporwave.” -THE FADER on ‘Judgment Bolt’

“…a pixelated, dancefloor-shaking blur of digitized beats, trippy orchestral passages and mutated vocals that stoke excitement for the full-length to come.” -Columbus Alive on ‘Judgment Bolt’
